On April 2, 2018, New York City experienced its biggest April snowstorm since the April 6, 1982 blizzard. A total of 5.5” snow fell at New York City’s Central Park and 6.5” fell at Fordham in the Bronx. The snowstorm was New York City’s 8th biggest April snowstorm on record. Records for Central Park go back to 1869.
The unusually late heavy snowfall presented a rare spectacle of spring foliage covered by a blanket of snow.
