Early Voting Kicks Off

Early voting in New York State began on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Lines were long and waits exceeded 3 hours in many places. The nation is in a dark period in its history, as the COVID-19 cases soar to new heights. Every vote can make a difference in breaking with this deeply unacceptable status quo. Massive early voting is already occurring nationwide. As of yesterday morning, approximately 60 million Americans had cast their ballots.

This is one election in which every vote matters. Everyone who is registered to vote should make their choice known at the ballot box. High turnout is a good thing, as high turnout ensures that the nation’s people clearly make their political choices know. Low turnout can lead to skewed outcomes that are not representative of the nation’s actual preference.
