As an unseasonably warm October concluded—one in which New York City recorded its highest monthly minimum temperature on record for October (47° vs. the old record of 45°, which was set in 1946 and tied in 1971—chrysanthemums brought color to the changing landscape at the New York Botanical Garden. The trees contain a few hints of color, but the unseasonable and sustained warmth has preserved the green well beyond what is typical. Some photos of the chrysanthemums are below:
