On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, Tropical Storm Isaias roared north-northeastward at 40 mph and tore through the New York area with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph. The storm uprooted and snapped trees. It brought down power lines. It knocked out cable TV services and high-speed Internet. It was the region’s worst storm since Sandy.
