Artificial Intelligence (AI) has advanced to the stage where it can now create photorealistic images of artwork (paintings and sculptures). This capacity can facilitate the ability of one to see things through the eyes of those who depicted them. Four examples from my visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Saturday are below.

Marble portrait of a young woman (Roman, Trajanic period, ca. A.D. 98-117)

Marble head of a youth wearing a fillet (Greek, Hellenistic, ca. 2nd century B.C.)

Detail of a Terracotta cinerary urn (Etruscan, 2nd century B.C.)
