The calendar has moved into December. Yet, even as November provided a cooler than normal end to a very warm autumn, at least a portion of nature appears to have been “tricked” into the idea that it is now early spring. Already a range of plants are in bloom. Those plants include camelia, viburnum, forsythia, lilac, and witch-hazel. Over the past week, the number of forsythia and lilac blossoms have increased. That trend may well continue as long as no Arctic blasts invade the New York City area.
