Autumn 2018 has been unseasonably mild and wet for the most part. However, the second half of October averaged under 50° for only the 15th time on record in New York City, where records go back to 1869. Nevertheless, the temperature rebounded sharply with the first week of November seeing high temperatures in the lower 70s for a record fourth year in a row.
