Earlier this month, Tropical Storm Isaias battered the New York City area with high winds, pounding surf, and occasional periods of intense downpours. In its wake, plants experienced leaf burn or leaf scorch, particularly on the east side from the salt water spray. On account of the leaf burn, August provided a spectacle not uncommon for late October or even early November in some places.
