PRINT AS PDF

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in its latest weekly update that seasonal influenza activity has been increasing in the United States. To date, the dominant strain has been Influenza B (62% cases) with Influenza A accounting for the remainder. The dominant subtype for Influenza B is the Victoria lineage.

This latest update is a reminder that all who have not already been vaccinated should receive flu shots to reduce the risk of exposure to the virus.
