Engaging Students in the Digital Age

Among Lehman College’s institutional learning outcomes is the goal that its graduates can “effectively communicate with diverse audiences in diverse settings and through diverse media as well as use appropriate rhetorical strategies with different audiences.” Any institution’s ability to cultivate, reinforce, and build on such skills is a function of the curriculum, exposure to opportunities to communicate, and pedagogy.

This spring, Lehman College’s Writing Across the Curriculum program will be holding a series of workshops for faculty aimed at addressing the issue of evolving literacy in the digital age. The workshops will cover both classroom activities and assignments aimed at enhancing instructor and student engagement in the work that leads to improved student outcomes.

Recognizing the importance of the initiative, the College will be offering participating faculty a $400 stipend.
