The CUNY Board of Trustees appointed Dr. José L. Cruz, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at California State University Fullerton, as the next President of Lehman College. CUNY Chancellor James B. Milliken termed Dr. Cruz “an outstanding choice” to succeed President Ricardo Fernández who is retiring after 26-years of heading Lehman College.

Dr. Cruz led efforts at California State University aimed at strengthening its governance structures, developing operational plans to advance the school’s mission, enhancing student success, and developing the institution’s first Academic master plan.
