It has been an unseasonably warm autumn through mid-November in the New York City area. In response, numerous flowers have started to bloom. In addition, on Saturday, November 13, there was an unprecedented outbreak of severe weather for November. Severe thunderstorms brought high winds, heavy downpours, and hail to the region. They also triggered a tornado outbreak with at least four tornadoes touching down in Connecticut and a record-tying three touching down on Long Island.
