Tropical Storm Fay Moves through the New York City Region

On Friday, July 10, 2020, Tropical Storm Fay, packing maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, made landfall in New Jersey. Fay brought heavy rain and strong winds to parts of the New York City region. Central Park picked up 2.54” rain, most of it during the middle afternoon into the early evening. That figure surpassed the previous daily record of 1.94”, which was set in 1874.
